Bart Manders

A  globetrotter, he is often found in company of his wife here, there and everywhere. At the moment both of them are found in a secluded woody area in the Netherlands together with their two daughters.

The 7 Adventures

All began in 2004 when Frank and Bart convinced four friends to go to Timbuktu in Mali. They managed to get their hands on three 4WD’s and promptly left in search of adventure, far away from the civilized world. Off the beaten track, as true adventurers do, they tested their resilience and creativity in the heat and dryness of the desert. For three beautiful weeks they enjoyed the riches in culture and nature this way of travelling offers.

When the trip was over and they were telling their stories it became clear that many people loved the idea of doing the same but had no idea how to get it done. That is why The 7 Adventures was founded in 2008.

Since the beginning it has been the idea to provide just a framework and not an organized trip. People can experience their own adventures. The bottom line is this, the trip is not just a means to an end. The adventures along the way and the interaction you experience are what make it a thing to remember.

Our fundraising road trips require a healthy dose of creativity, resourcefulness and a positive attitude.This type of travel is not for the faint-hearted. But then again, we wouldn’t want it any other way!
