Wonders of Waste - Rolling 4 Rome
Drive to Rome without paying a penny for fuel? With an old diesel powered car you can do just that!
It`s been known for years that diesel engines run just fine on (vegetable) cooking oil, even on waste cooking oil. It means you can run your car on the waste product of a kitchen. So the only thing you need to do is ask if you can have the kitchen waste. That shouldn`t be to hard for an adventurous person like yourself?
With this trip to Rome you`ll be supporting charity by raising funds. The standard rules for participating in a The 7 Adventures event (including the amount to be raised for charity) can be found in the FAQ.
But there is one additional very important rule for this Wonders of Waste event:
Only free donated waste cooking oil can be used as fuel for your car!
So here`s what we`ll do:
- Get yourself an old diesel powered car (minimum 15 years old)
- Prepare and pimp the car as you see fit
- Get sponsors to support charity (and you)
- Join us for the start ceremony in Rotterdam
- `Begging` for fuel you drive to Rome
- While grinning you wave at the Colosseum
- And then you join the party!
You will never ever look at a fast food restaurant, fish & chip shop or any other roadside restaurant in the same way as before. Any place to get yourself a trucker`s meal is also a place to fill up with fuel!
Oh, all right then! One more little additional rule...
For this event every car (so also a Golf or even a fat Mercedes) will be placed in the cookie-tin-class, so each team only needs to raise a minimum of € 500 for charity. That shouldn`t be too hard, right?
